I always had visions of wearing my grandmothers wedding dress, yet always wanted to make it a my own. I brought the dress to Anna and explained to her what I wanted to do. With the help of her expertise she helped me bring the dress back to life. We had five fittings for each step of the progress in making my dress. She asked me at each point if I wanted anything changed, how I felt about the dress and if I was comfortable. She incorporated original fabric and lace from my grandmothers dress and also pulled in french lace that she had matched to the original. She was straight forward and honest about the whole process, pulling in her expert knowledge on fabrics and design. In addition to completing my dress she also made my mothers dress as pictured below. It was stunning to walk me down the aisle. Thank you again Anna!

Anna helped my mom and I transform her wedding dress into a dress for my rehearsal dinner for my upcoming October wedding! It turned out fabulously. Keeping photos a secret for now as I have yet to wear the dress, but will update in October to show the transformation. The dress required hand cutting and re-sewing of lace from the original to the new dress. The time and detail Anna spent was immense. I flew from San Diego to Boston three times for meetings with Anna, that was how much dedication and time went into the dress! (Originally from the Boston area-and that was where my Mom's dress is!). We are thrilled with the product and her service. She is a joy to work with and her work is unique and extraordinary.

My experience with Anna Nieman Couture has been so wonderful! I cannot say enough good things about Anna Nieman herself and her ability to craft the most beautiful dresses. Soon after my daughter announced her engagement, I began to look for a mother of the bride dress. Mind you, I had well over a year to look. I tried on countless numbers of dresses in several cities, ordered many online - and yet just 4 months before the wedding, I was still without a dress! None of the dresses that I tried on - seemed “right” or fit my very curvy figure. Thanks to a dear friend, I found Anna Nieman Couture in Wellesley. From the moment I walked into Anna’s charming shop on Washington Street, I felt a sense of peace. After a warm welcome, Anna began to ask very insightful questions regarding what exactly I had in mind for my dress. Anna listened to my thoughts and made many suggestions based on her many years of professional experience - and ended up creating a truly beautiful silk-satin dress in wedgwood blue (one of the wedding colors). I love my dress and look forward to wearing it again on another very special occasion. It is that kind of a dress - the kind that you will want to wear again.

My mom was having trouble finding a dress to wear to my wedding. Anna was able to create the mother of the bride dress of my mom's dreams. Additionally, I was having a hard time finding a place to alter my wedding dress, since it needed some major alterations - including, hemming a foot off of the dress (since I'm only 5'1) while keeping the beautiful lace detailing/train on the bottom and creating lace straps using the leftover material. Even though Anna doesn't usually do alterations, when my mom told her about my difficulty finding a place for alterations, she went out of her usual scope and altered my wedding dress. My dress came out beautifully. It fit me like a glove, was comfortable and came out better than I could have imagined. Throughout the whole process, she was very receptive to my mom and I's ideas and was great to work with. My mom and I highly recommend to go to her to make your dream outfit come to life. Anna Nieman did a fabulous job making my mother of the bride dress!!! I have purchased some of her designs in the past and wear them to this day! The classic and elegant style she portrays is unsurpassable! The dress for the wedding was above and beyond my expectations (presented many different pictures of dresses that had something I wanted in my own dress, that Anna brought to fruition)! I wanted something very specific for my daughter's wedding this past June so I chose to go to Anna Nieman. We worked together, she understood what I wanted & presented fabric options that I could choose from. She is very professional & easy to work with. I have never had a custom made "anything" so this was all new to me. My gown fit like nothing I've ever worn before & it looked totally awesome. Walking down the street in Boston a total stranger told me how much she liked my dress. I highly recommend Anna!

Anna designed and fitted the most elegant and beautiful “mother of the bride” gown for me to wear to my daughter’s wedding. I was thrilled with both the loveliness and the perfect fit and comfort of my gown. Anna made the whole process from start to finish a pure delight. She asked me to describe the gown I envisioned for myself and then she proceeded to design the most beautiful gown that was beyond anything I could have imagined on my own. Anna created a custom gown for me to wear to my daughter’s upcoming wedding. Everything about the experience was wonderful. I have a difficult figure, and wanted to wear only natural fibers. Anna ordered me a luxurious cotton/silk blend fabric to construct my gown and visualized a gown with only vertical lines. Anna accented the gown with her signature silk fabric flowers embellished with Swarovski crystals. My fitting were nicely spread out and that time allowed me to shop for the perfect foundation garments and shoes. I really enjoyed the process and look forward to wearing my gown. Anna is such a lovely, genuine, talented and passionate professional. I am grateful for her help and expertise.

I came into Anna's shop to see her latest designs and find out whether she possibly had something for me to wear to a very fancy and fanciful wedding in Great Britain. She had me try on a beautiful pewter-colored gown. The dress style was different than anything I had ever owned but it looked fantastic. I had so much fun wearing this dress at my friends wedding. From my wife: I loved my wedding dress and felt great all day! Anna is a true artist and she made my vision come true, while adding her own artistic flair to the dress. I had a very specific idea of the shape and type of dress that I wanted: flowy skirt, cap sleeves, boat neckline, U-shape backless, and illusion top with non-floral motifs. Anna understood perfectly what I wanted and executed it magnificently. Importantly, she was able to bring her deep expertise in dress-making to advise me on the type of fabric, color shade, and construction of the dress. I am so glad I followed her advice – everything turned out great. She also made me a veil with some lace appliqués that mirrored the appliqués on the bust of the dress. I loved the veil and did not want to take it off ! The fabric of the skirt was a gorgeous, luxurious georgette silk. I couldn’t stop twirling all night. And she added pockets! Anna is a delightful woman, and extremely professional. She was able to calm my nerves as the wedding date approached. You are in great hands if you choose Anna to make your wedding dress! She had the perfect mix of executing my vision while gently pushing while gently giving her advice on what would work best. And she has extremely fair prices given the quality of the work. With a fitting, she will make sure you are comfortable and confident in the dress, and that you have flattering accessories as well. Anna uses hiigh quality fabrics and excellent fabrication techniques with a special emphasis on the right color for you and the best design for your body type. I feel lucky to own several of Anna Nieman's dresses, knowing they were made with great care and will last.

I have worn Anna's gowns to the last two Boston Ballet Balls. The 2018 gown was custom designed and had 4 or 5 fittings. This year's gown, I chose from her store three days before the ball, it was about three sizes too big, and within 24 hours it was altered and fit perfectly! And more importantly... I LOVED it!

I was visiting in the Wellesley area recently, and had a chance to stop by the boutique. I am not someone who pays much attention to fashion, but I do pay a lot of attention to art, and I was very impressed with the quality of visual and plastic imagination that the dresses displayed. Anna has a terrific sense of design and a real sensitivity to the materials she is using. When I had the opportunity, I checked out the website, which was also very tastefully done, and an good impression of how her elegant designs will fit into elegant settings and important events. The feminine discourse of display is beyond my ken, but I can recognize a true master/mistress of her chosen medium. These designs would certainly only enhance the specialness of any event, and must make anyone wearing them feel special, as well.

I shopped around looking for a dress to wear to my sons wedding. I went to the mall stores and did the rounds on Newbury Street. I found an Oscar de la Renta dress that I loved, at Bloomingdale's but the price was out of my budget. Someone referred me to Anna Nieman Couture and I found everything I could possibly want Including original designs, beautiful colors, and prices that were more than fair for what was being offered. Lastly, Anna is very gracious and low pressure. I found she had a lot of good advice and a terrific eye for fashion.
